Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the range limited to 3999?

Standard Roman numerals only use the symbols I, V, X, L, C, D and M, which top out at 3999 (MMMCMXCIX) without special overline notation for larger values.

Does it validate Roman numerals?

Yes. It rejects malformed numerals (like IIII or VX) and only accepts properly formed sequences.
